MENTORING support for families

1-1 Mentoring family support

My 1–1 mentoring work with families is designed to support parents and carers who are navigating SEMH, SEND and emotionally complex needs - often alongside school pressure, uncertainty or exhaustion.

This is not about telling parents what to do.
It is about helping you understand your child more clearly, so you can respond with confidence, consistency and compassion.

My 1–1 mentoring is suitable for families who are supporting children or young people who may be:

  • Struggling emotionally or behaviourally at school

  • Experiencing anxiety, overwhelm or emotional dysregulation

  • Neurodivergent (including autism, ADHD, PDA profiles)

  • Showing signs of school-based distress or avoidance

  • Finding it hard to engage with education systems

  • Impacted by trauma, attachment difficulties or unmet needs

Many families I work with feel they have tried “everything” - strategies, meetings, plans - without feeling truly understood or supported.

Where appropriate, my work with families can complement school-based support by:

  • helping parents prepare for school meetings

  • clarifying language and law around SEMH and SEN

  • supporting consistency between home and school

  • reducing conflict and misunderstanding

Our sessions will be

  • Personalised

My 1–1 mentoring sessions are shaped around your child and family, recognising that every SEMH and SEN profile is unique and requires understanding, flexibility and an individualised approach.

  • Targeted

Sessions focus on the specific challenges your child and family are experiencing, offering practical, evidence-informed guidance that supports emotional regulation, confidence, communication and day-to-day school and home life.

  • Integrative

My work brings together specialist SEMH understanding, SEN awareness, trauma-informed practice and specialised educational insight, helping families make sense of their child’s needs and build consistent, supportive approaches across environments.
