School SEMH & Trauma-Informed Support

BrightKids Education provides specialist SEMH training and consultancy for secondary schools, special/AP settings and independent providers working with high-need cohorts.

All support is tailored to your context, staff experience and pupil profile.

Many schools are under pressure to “be trauma-informed” without the time, space or support to embed this meaningfully.

Claudine helps schools move beyond surface-level strategies by focusing on:

  • Understanding behaviour as communication

  • Trauma, attachment and nervous system regulation

  • Neurodiversity-affirming SEMH practice

  • Staff containment, reflection and confidence

  • Sustainable change that protects staff wellbeing

  • School literacy implementation

This is not about lowering expectations-it is about changing how support is delivered so that expectations are achievable.

The most powerful learning comes not from doing, but from reflecting on what we have done.

My Approach

No Pressure

At the heart of my work is a belief that change does not come through pressure, but through understanding. I support schools to reflect on their practice in ways that feel safe, practical and achievable, offering clear strategies that can be implemented in real classrooms, not ideal ones. My aim is not to add another layer of expectation, but to help staff feel more confident, more equipped and more connected to why they became teachers in the first place: to make a meaningful difference to young people’s lives.

Targeting Specific Issues

Understanding behaviour as communication

  1. Trauma, attachment and nervous system regulation- A deeper understanding for staff

  2. Neurodiversity-affirming SEMH practice- practical solutions to help co-regulate students

  3. Staff containment, reflection and confidence-building. Transparency and teamwork

  4. Sustainable change that protects staff wellbeing. Introducing a more staff-focused foundation of support.
